I love GoDaddy to death, and all that they offer, but today I came across a hosting plan and offer that blew my mind. This deal would get us a year of hosting for $22.40, which is a amazing offer one can not let go. This offer is through DreamHost who has been in the business since 1997. They have a offer that would get us $97.00 off of our hosting if we switch from GoDaddy to them. We would try it out before we made the 100% decision to take it on keeping out GoDaddy hosting as a mirror for a month or two just in case things do not work out.

Right now we are paying $76.00 a year for hosting and get 100 gigs of space and 1,000 gigs of bandwidth. If we choose to switch and go with DreamHost we would get 160 some odd gigs of space and 1.6 some odd terabytes of bandwidth.

From the reviews I have read, they have good uptime and some what acceptable support. So I think we will give it a try.

Assuming that DreamHost's service is at least equal to GoDaddy's, I think we should try it...
The price is very tempting, though we need to create backup and expect some downtime during server change later... happy.gif

I have 125 gigs of MySQL backups from the last few months that we have been with GoDaddy. I will go make a up to date one right now.

Nice deal, I support the forum completely! :3
I think the price would also bring donators around... *not sure*

Good luck with the transition~

The only reason we are even looking at DreamHost is because of its price per year. Which is unbeatable for the space/bandwidth you are getting.

I'd actually jump to that kind of offer... but we cant just rush things... (maybe the host isn't that good? and it always has a lot of downtime despite it being cheap...)

I kind of addressed that in the post, we will keep our GoDaddy account as collateral just in case DreamHost does go down a lot and we find ourselves in a sticky situation. DreamHost has a 97 day money back guarantee, so it works out well.
