As a lot of our members know, the Ragnarok Battle Offline forums are completely non profit, and are usually supported by my wallet. I am currently looking into ways of fixing this. One option, is to keep the old ad system, which was just Text ads from the Yahoo! Publisher network which did not pay well. We made about $0.15 a day. But for the past week, we really have had no clicks, which equals no money. I know it is hard, and a lot of people do not click on ads to support websites, and legally we can not tell you to. So, I came across a website called www.advertising.com which specializes in online advertising. They are the main ad suppliers on MySpace. I am thinking about contacting them to see if they can help us, by selling ad space for us to there customers, such as Verizon and many more. So I am calling on the opinion of the forum users, what do you think would be the best idea. Please do keep in mind we need money, for the hosting, to buy IPB, and if possible to bring the downloads back.
Thanks,
Garrett

I am completely lost about the Yahoo Ads... I don't see them anywhere on this site. So that means, you should find another way of advertising, but not those large annoying ones that pop up and scroll around the screen. Google ads do good. They just stay on the top and side of your site~ Just make sure we click them! (Burn us and torture us if we don't) And if you even dare bring the downloads back, I think the site would eat more money than your wallet can hold and what the ads provide. About 90 people download RBO and its expantions EVERY DAY. 1.890 terabytes of downloads is alot of bandwith for a whole week.
So I say no, but get sexier ads, not annoying or ones that can even be seen~

Well the only reason you can’t see the Yahoo! ads are because we have not put them back up on the forum. Yahoo ads are exactly like Google Ads, we can't use Google though, we got denied by the AdSense people or w/a. When we had Google AdSense we were making close to $100 bucks A DAY! One day they just decided to shut down our account, so that’s why we don’t use Google AdSense. The only alternative to Google AdSense was the Yahoo Publisher Network, which we currently use (Ads are not up on the new skin yet). They got VERY LITTLE CLICKS, which means no money. I am trying to find a way that people will pay a fixed rate for ad space a month, say $20 a month gets you a Ad at the top of the forums, then $10 bucks gets one down at the bottom of the forums.

so...we just have to click the ads? I can live with that, if the pop ups ain't irritating, not to mention, what are the rates of the ads? like 1 click denotes to how much you earn?

Well I am not telling people to just click on them, because it would be a breach of the contract. It rounds out to about $.10 (cents) per click.
I also took a survey today from Yahoo! that made use $30.00! Wo0t!

A suggestion: Could you change the yahoo links that they open in a new window? So everybody not wanting to shift+click could leave them opened..
Also the transparent (or white) style without borders or such in those yahoo Ads is nice, obtrusive.

Do you think the RBO forums should use Yahoo! ads or setup something else?
I have never seen a better method using Ads in forums.
Also, nobody reads the content of Ads if there are too many publishers in one. It is good with just one in one as now
