Well. My thoughts would be. Ppl who leave usually just leave. Ive rarely seen many that announce their leave. So it might just end up pointless.

Usually you don't suddenly decide, Oh, I won't go to this forum again.

Maybe you could post here like "I'll be gone for a few months because I'm going on a vacation" or in MetaFurionX case he's busy in translation development so he's not here right now..

I'm going away for 10 minutes to fix myself a snack, goodbye.

Instead of only goodbye, an intro/afk/goodbye forum. Anyways, people who leave without warning didn't notice they'd be posting their last or simply think no one deserves to know their bbye.

Lol. Hes back...
Meh. I didnt relaly pay attention to that topic.
Also, adding to my other post.
A goodbye forum would definetly be pointless. I mean. Lets say i was a developer doing some crazy thing. Im not gunna go make a new topic all the way in a different subforum when i can just tell everybody ill be on temp leave in my project topic or w/e.

This post is off topic, but it's a response to MetaFurionX's post.
No, moderator shouldn't and cannot humiliate another member. I'll try to discuss this to the related member / mod.

Some people who are present in various sections would find a goodbye forum useful, but some others always find a proper thread where he/she knows most ppl they're intending to farewell will read.

Lol. Again, they could just post in their main topic.
Another example. Nyx could post up he'll be gone for a few weeks or something in his Hacking the RBO Resources topic, and the people who r most involved with him will probably look at the topic and see that hes gone.
Its just the same if i were to post in the spam topic. Kaizer, Duker, Darsk, element, Lucca, arkeden, Adelin, and maybe [F]alcon would be the only few that actually read it.
Its fine that way since i barely reply to other people out of that area.
Its not really like i need to get attention and let every single member know that im gone anyways, since more than half wouldnt even know who i was and vice versa.
Lol. I just reread the title.
"if there are introductions, why not goodbye?"
Ive always considered Introduction a place for ppl to start off, tell something about themselves, and maybe meet some of the friendlier helpful people around ____ forums. Kaizer and Duker are some of those people. Goodbye just doesnt make sense in my head.
W/e. Idk. I just find it more convenient if they posted in in their "home base".

Yeah, it definetly makes sense what you say solo. No one outside the spamming grounds would probably care if I left, so it would be unnecesseary to tell anyone else except them. And if there would be anyone that wonders then one of those who knows could tell.

Thinking better about it... The intro topics are usually short. You could announce departure or return also there.

Lol.. The intro topics are not short anymore.. And only HELLO and spamming members visit there..

Frankly, why should anyone bother with good-byes? Next, you can't REALLY leave a forum. Reposting or logging in is as easy as 1, 2 ,3. Unless your computer gets trashed or your internet gets cut off or something to that sort only then can you can bid farewell to a forum.

It happened to me, I went like a year withpout internet, but then I came back.
But a good-bye thread would be good.

Yea, I would have to post in it sooner or later.
I will look into it.

if there is a goodbye forum, then posts in it probably wont add to your total post count. So to have one or not really only makes ppl that want to announce their leaving not confused of where to post.
