The big fat sidebar, and the 5 minute post flood control.

Id say just cut the sidebar down in width. Its really distracting. (for ppl who dont close sidebar)

About the flood control. 5 minutes? Thats just taking it too far.

Yes, It's a little too fat, I'd prefer it the normal width.

What's more, the front page should only be open for annoucments, having other topics there is completly out of the point.

Btw, more reasons. If youre somebody whos like, the support master like f3rd1, then itd make it so much more difficult if there were many ppl that needed help. Hed have to wait 5 minutes just to get to one, and 5 minutes again til the next.

I agree- that flood control thing is just nuts. Have we even had an issue with flooding to justify putting it into effect?

At the very least, maybe have it not apply to mods (since mods are in a position of responsibility anyways, we should be able to control ourselves, haha). I like to be able to log on, respond to the topics I need to as quick as I can, and log off again. If that accounts for even 3 topics, that means 15-20 minutes on this site when it SHOULD only be 5... I know -I- have other things to do with my time...

I like the sidebar ONLY for having a convenient "new posts" link. As far as I'm concerned, the rest of the bar should be cut, lol.

Yes, I agree- if the whole theme of the site was changing to a blue color, the links would fit in- and as much as I'd think that would look pretty, I really dunno how much a blue theme would fit with RBO... But I could be wrong, I'd have to see it first^^ (Maybe a sky blue?)

If they blued up everything including the RBO logo at the top, it would probably look pretty cool. Or they could try and get a new RBO logo that fits in with the soon to be blueness.

I have another suggestion about this. Its about the sidebar contents. It seems better if they put the Personal Menu above everything. It just makes more sense that i read "Welcome solomaster" before other stuff.

Ill be looking forward to the new blueness. (then ill have to make up a new twist for the blue forumers )

Well, let's not get ahead of ourselves here: We don't even know if they intend to change the theme to blue. Odds are, they arbitrarilly changed the link color to blue, and on reading this, they may just change it back.

I agree- we should read "Welcome <username>" first- it only makes sense^^

For new members this is OK.. The problem lies with the older members who is used to the old system.. It's hard adjusting to the new look and restrictions..

i've been here since the yellow forums, 5min wait is way too long, spam in the spam section doesnt even increase your post count, if theres 5min wait for each post then i dont think theres any use for spam section. Since i cant technically spam anywhere.

Our main concern atm is just the flood control. Nobody likes it.
Lets hope it changes back soon so we can all resume our regular posting routines w/o having to find something to do for 5 minutes after every post.
The other stuff isnt that big of a concern but itd still be great if it was considered.

Ill be waiting for a notification from the admin of whats gunna happen...

Lol. The Dev stuff i dotn really think is needed on the front. I think maybe something like Announcements on the top and then wans videos. (since the main page would be best to show announcements)

I don't mind the advertisements, but isn't ShadowRO a private RO server? I thought we didn't want to be associated with that kinda thing here?

Additionally, I agree- the front page seems kinda chaotic when it indiscriminately shows any recent posts- I think it should be limited to Announcements as well...

I've always thought, tho, that we should have -more- content on the main page. Because really, it just seems to be a portal to get into the forums. I'm really not sure what could be put there, but I think it would be to the website's benefit to make it more of a website, and less of a portal to the forums...

The way im thinking. The only things that would seem useful on the main page would be Announcements, maybe a link to the downloads (for ppl who have trouble finding the "HTTP Downloads" link on the main forums) and the videos. Listed from most useful to least.

I dont mind the ads ( i dont pay attention to them at all anyways), but they do sort of go against the guidelines.

Not sure about this, but I've heard from my friend that we can't pick what kind of advertisement that appears in the Google ads. We can only pick what category [eg: computer, game] and the chosen category will appears there randomly chosen.

shadow RO is a private server, i know the guy who owns it Mikey, and me and my cousins are pretty popular on that server but i stopped playing, Kite, ZeroSephiroth, and Twinkle.

Im pretty sure you can stop sRO from being advertised here.
